About |
Prior to being elected Controller, Jason was Jury Commissioner for Centre County. He helped usher the County’s summons system from an expensive paper-based system to an electronic questionnaire that significantly reduced paper and ink waste and made the process more accessible to all residents. He was also involved in converting the juror payment system to a debit card-based system that will increase the timeliness of juror payments.
The Controller is the foundation to County government. As Controller, Jason is the Fiscal Manager and Internal Auditor of Centre County government; a member of the Salary Board; Secretary for the County Retirement Board; manager of Centre County employees’ retirement benefits; member of the Finance Committee; and a member of the Prison Board of Inspectors. Additionally, he is the 3rd Vice-President of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Controllers as well as Chair of the Communications Committee; the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania's (CCAP) Unemployment Compensation (UC) Trust Board, where he also chairs the Finance and Auditing Committee, and CCAP's Joint Investment Committee on behalf of the UC Trust. Jason believes in community service and that his role as Controller is to be the steward of taxpayer dollars - ensuring that they are used for the programs and services contributing to the betterment of all Centre County residents. He and his wife, Laura, reside in Bellefonte with their two cats, Lily and Aoife and their bearded dragon, Spike, where they enjoy gardening and roaming the parks and local businesses. |
